How to Recover from Penguin 2.0?

Solution is not that easy but every looser have to get rid of this. Let’s first discuss the webmaster’s 2 major mistakes which were caused to invite penguin 2.0. Of-Course it was not a mistake. It was technique before 2010 to get your rankings on Top.

  • Low Quality Links
  • Poor Content on the Website

What are Low Quality Links?

  • Links by leaving spam comments
  • Links through Irrelevant websites
  • Links from low (DA) Domain Authority Websites
  • Links from low rank guest blogs
  • Links from articles websites by using duplicate content
  • Links by using Exact Match keyword as an anchor text

What is Poor Content?

When we say poor content it doesn’t exactly mean poor writing. It means duplicate content, Incomplete content, keyword focused content and off-course poor writing content. But this duplicate content page could be a reason of having duplicate pages because of internal linking structure like using tags in blogs or pagination. So with good research content, website/blog structure should be completely SEO friendly as well.

How to get rid of Low Quality Links?

Step 1: Run a backlinks analysis report using opensiteexplorer.org, http://www.linkdetox.com.

Step 2: Sort all the links according to DA (Domain Authority), PA (Page Authority), PR (Page Rank). Keep the good ones and make a list of bad ones.

Step 3: Send an emails to webmasters to remove your backlinks.

Step 4: List down of all the remaining links and  disavow them using Google’s Disavow Link Tool.

Here is complete guideline by Google on how to deal with low-quality backlinks.

How to resolve Low quality content Issues?

Step 1: Complete incomplete content.

Step 2: Put canonical tags if pages are duplicate make the old page as a parent page.

Step 3: Put No-index, No-follow meta tags for tags pages in blogs.

Step 4: Use rel=”next”, rel=”previous” tags in pagination if there is any.

Step 5: Do research, write clearly and explain with the help of images so visitor will have interest to read and share your content with others as well.

Avoid Exact Match Text Anchoring BackLinks?

Getting EMD text anchoring links was very powerful method to get your rankings quickly on Google but Now Google is grown and mature. So don’t do that again.

Divide you backlinks with EMD, PMD, No match and Brand Name links. If your keyword is “buy shoes”. Get 20%-30% links with “buy shoes” text anchor, 10%-20% on another word like buy discounted shoes. 10%-20% using click here and point link to the landing page. 10%-20% on brand name like londonshoes.com.

So here is little guide on how to recover your website if affected by penguin 2.0.

If you think you already following all these steps and your site is affected without any reason then you can submit reconsideration request through your Google Webmasters Tools account.

BTW, If you think your competition is still on top even they are using black-hat techniques then you can report to Google.
