History and Importance of Websites

It was the first time when in 30 April 1993, Tim Berners-Lee offered others to come and visit the enigma of social sense which will change the world in real sense of Global Village. Tim Berners-Lee was a CERN physicist. Under his supervision, CERN maintained a website for the help of others. Initially it was due to the invention of World Wide Web (WWW) by Tim Berners. Website, Web Site or simply Site, are different terms technically used for the same word. It consists of different ideas varying in the scheme and sense of perception of a single mind.  The address of the website is known as Uniform Resource Locator or simply URL, which is bound to host your website.  Websites are programmed in various languages and formats but HTML, php, ASP.Net, C++, etc. are the most popular languages. Different elements can be abridged with other websites through markup anchors. It is a common practice to summarize and restrain other webpages with Hypertext Transfer Protocol or HTTP.

Right now, website is considered as the best medium to communicate with people all over the world. Due to its accessibility, it should be designed keeping all kinds of users in mind. The best thing internet is done is to reduce the boundaries between the countries and websites are the main players. Especially for businesses, websites has proved to be very beneficial in terms of promoting business. Now businesses related to any niche can promote their products and services all over the world through their websites. All businesses need to do is to make their websites more and more appealing and attractive through artistic designing. In past a decade, businesses have shown tremendous increase in their sales through websites. In fact, more than 50 percent of businesses are only online based, having no customers in their local area.

While talking about types of websites, we have them listed in terms of personal websites, commercial websites, government websites or a nonprofit organization websites. You can also differentiate websites in terms of their built. Some are static websites that have web pages stored on the server and are sent to a client web browser. It is primarily coded in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). While other websites are called dynamic websites. Dynamic sites changes or customizes itself frequently and automatically, based on certain criteria.

There are two further main classifications in dynamic websites that is code and content. Invisible or behind code is called Dynamic code, whereas the visible and fully displayed content is called dynamic content. Websites can also be divided into two broad categories of static and interactive, but that would be subject of another topic.
