Acer Aspire R7 is an ultrabook which is all-in-one desktop, a laptop and a tablet mounted in one casing. I have used the i5 model of Aspire R7 and it is just amazing with full HD display with a price tag of $999. If you compare the specs which this machine has got with its price tag then you will surely realize that Acer has offered a lot of hardware to their customers at very low price.
Unique design
Contrary to the traditional ultrabooks, the Acer Aspire R7 is quite big. It has got a 15.6 inch display and has weight of almost five pounds. On the front side of it, a hinge is attached. The screen can slide over it and can be used for converting your laptop into a tablet. With the introduction of the hinge, Acer has changed the position of the trackpad. Instead of placing it under the keyboard, it has now been placed on the upper side of the keyboard. The laptop’s body is made up of aluminium which gives strength to the laptop and also protects the sensitive parts of the laptop.
Good video and audio quality
The video quality of this ultrabook is superb. The 15.6 inch screen displays the 1080p videos quite elegantly. The screen displays sharp images and it also minimizes the scaling problems which normally occur on big screens. Adding to this, the audio quality of the Aspire R7 is quite good. It produces clear sound over a broad range of volume. There are four speakers in Aspire R7. There is only one problem regarding its sound quality and that is staging.
Hardware specs
Unlike the design of R7, the hardware specs of this machine are not quite unique. Following are the main hardware specs of the Aspire R7
- 1.8 GHz clock speed
- Core i5 CPU
- 2 Cores
- Integrated graphics
- 6 GB DDR3 Ram
- 1 TB Hard disk
When it comes to ports, they are the same as we see on most of the ultrabooks
- 3 USB ports
- One HDMI port
- One port for headphone
- One proprietary port.
Aspire R7 has been designed to replace your PC, laptop and tablet with one device. The problem with this ultrabook is quite big and bulky as a result the customers will find reluctant to take it with them while travelling. Moreover, its battery is not up to the mark. Its battery lasts just two hours under heavy load. This is quite less amount of battery life as compared to the ultrabook of other companies.
