1. Sign Up For Google Analytics Account

Go to official website of Google Analytics and click on “Create An Account” button residing at upper left corner of homepage. If you are already signed in to Google account, then simply click on Access Google Analytics.

Now click on sign up button to proceed. Next, you will have to choose whether you want to use Universal Analytics or Classic Analytics. The basic difference between both of them is that Classic Analytics has basic features but Universal Analytics includes some additional features like multiplatform tracking, custom metrics and online/offline data sync.

Finally, fill all the required information like account name, your website name and address etc. After filling that form, click on “Get Tracking ID” to finish the procedure to set up an account.

2. Set Up Google Analytics On Your Website

After setting your account, you will be directed to Tracking Code section. You must have to put tracking code on every page you want to track. There are several ways to perform this step.

  • In your website template, simply copy/paste the code.
  • Create a php file with code and include it after the body tag of your website.
