IPhone 5 is the flagship of the technological titan Apple while the Galaxy S4 is of Samsung. Both these smartphones are in competition in the market to get the maximum number of customers. Below I have made a comparison the specs of these two mobiles on the basis of their specs.
The iPhone 5 is taller than its predecessors for displaying an additional row of apps. It is quite long and slim and is quite easy to handle with one hand. It is slimmer than the Galaxy S4. The iPhone 5 is just 112 grams heavy while the weight of the Galaxy S4 is 130 grams. In appearance, the iPhone 5 looks quite elegant especially in black colour. The beautiful metallic body of the iPhone 5 looks quite attractive as compared to the plastic body of the iPhone 5. So, in the comparison of size and appearance, iPhone 5 has an edge over the S4.
The display size of the iPhone 5 is just 4 inches and its maximum resolution is 1135×640 and uses Apple’ Retina technology. On the other hand, the display size of S4 is 5 inches and it uses the Super AMOLED display technology that shows 1080p videos quite nicely. The images, videos and the user interface seems to be more attractive on S4 than iPhone5. Moreover, although Apple has increased the size of iPhone 5 but the Apple apps have not been redesigned for this tall display. So, in the comparison of display, Galaxy S4 has a lead.
As compared to the Android, iOS has been quite slow in updating itself according to the changing user requirements. The iOS has a closed development environment. On the other hand, Samsung has customized Android for its S4 and has made its user interface more attractive. The S4 uses the latest version of Android i.e. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Moreover, the introduction of the Apple Maps has not been able to get a good response from the customers as compared to the well established Google Maps. The Google Now is quite better than the Siri of iPhone 5. So in my opinion, Android of S4 is far more better than the iOS of iPhone 5.
Apple has deployed its indigenous A6 processor in the iPhone 5 which is just a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. On the other hand Samsung has deployed its Quad-core 1.6 GHz processor in the S4. The storage capacity of both these flagships is quite same but the iPhone 5 does not support SD cards while the S4 does. In this way takes S4 has an upper hand over iPhone 5.
The camera of iPhone 5 is quite similar to the camera of iPhone 4s along with enhanced HDR. On the other hand, the S4 has a 13MP camera and has got some remarkable features including the Dual-Camera feature. So, the camera of iPhone 5 stands nowhere infront of the S4’s camera.
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that S4 is far more better than the iPhone 5 and this is the reason why S4 is quite hit in the market.
